Gripped —

The above is fascinating! It’s an honor and privilege to repost this outstanding write by my wonderful beautiful gifted niece Brittney Matthews! She’s amazing. And I’m so grateful that I get to share with others what God has been doing in her life!

When you find yourself losing your way, remember this: you do not have to fret. For our heavenly Father has you “Gripped!”

Incomprehensible Forgiveness

Image result for incomprehensible forgiveness

Who’d want to believe that there’s only one thing that cannot, and will not, be forgiven? The blaspheme of the Holy Spirit (God’s power in which the [3rd] of the Trinity has facilitated all existence as we understand it) is the ONLY unforgivable sin. Matthew 12:30-32 (AMP) says “(30) He who is not with Me [once and for all on My side] is against Me; and he who does not [unequivocally] gather with Me scatters. (31) Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy [every evil, abusive, injurious speaking, or indignity against sacred things] will be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the [Holy] Spirit will not be forgiven. (32) Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit [by attributing the miracles done by Me to Satan] will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.” How can this be? So, this means everything else is forgivable — including murder?!

Yesterday’s post rendered an even closer look into how we all are one. I was listening to some music on You Tube (preparation for an upcoming rehearsal) and came across Zach Williams. He gives a testimony of how he was drinking and on drugs for 15 years. And, yet, that’s not what struck a chord. His audience was the prisoners of Harding Prison in Buffalo, South Dakota. As I watched the video I thought, “Well, of course, the inmates will have to listen. They don’t have much options being incarcerated.” Gosh! So typical! And then I watched closely …

I recalled over 10 years ago being the Minister of Music Director at a church and, one evening in Thursday night rehearsal, I apologized to the praise team for a judgement I made. God got on me!! And it was quite fair. The judgement call was that those of the audience didn’t feel the presence of God because there was no display of any so that meant we needed to do our jobs to ensure they knew God’s presence was there! HOW DARE I!! God (in alone time) asked why did I assume they didn’t feel His presence just because I didn’t see it? Wow! I don’t know what’s going on in a person’s mind and heart. Who was I to judge when I don’t know a thing. “Showmanship” doesn’t prove presence!

Are you having a hard time with the word judge? Great! It’s what we do without taking out the time to realize it. True, in this case, I was assessing {evaluate or estimate the nature, ability or quality of}, but my presumption (assessment; judgement) was wrong!

Okay … this purposed paragraph is to let you know calling out our stuff is vital to our well-being. Again and again and again I will tell you that TRUTH makes us free! Truth can be tough and hurtful in so many ways and yet it is the most freeing commodity we have. These types of components (wisdom, truth, love) are the tools to our vitality. Without them — life is depleted in such a way indescribable. Ask those who are trying to live a lie. Their cover-up is strenuous and they are burnt out beyond belief. But will they admit it?!

Incomprehensible Forgiveness is when someone violates your space by breaking into your home to steal a TV or computer; money, jewelry; maybe even some furniture — it’s not the stuff (though valuable in and of itself) but the violation of intruding the mind. You feel their presence even when they’re gone. They leave you vulnerable; open to a fear of being robbed again and again but you still forgive. Maybe a loss of a loved one taken by a murderer. There’s many reasons but no reason at all to why the accused would commit this crime but you find a way to say “I forgive you!”

Though the list be long, and this thought hard to believe, those prisoners are people too! Yes! They are people too!! Worthy to be forgiven. Is it without reason that God would forgive a person who has taken a life? Or that He would forgive someone who violated your body by rape or molestation? How does He do it? —- But the bigger question …. How can we?

By all accounts Jesus came and died. It’s difficult to fathom an innocent man shedding His blood for us “just because,” but He did it! He died for that violator, murderer, etc. Becoming like Him is learning to do the unthinkable. Find, learn and apply a way toward Incomprehensible Forgiveness!

We’re Just Passing Through to Get to The Other Side — Jesus = Jesus!

Attending memorials and funerals really bring to light the REAL basis of our lives. It causes a surreal thought — we’re not going to always be here on Earth. On Saturday, January 11, I attended a memorial for a Pastor friend. He asked me to play. In his message he talked about a cousin of his had told him that her son asked where do people go after they die. He covered various explanations that people have given.

Some believe it to be eternal nothingness which is associated with religious skepticism and atheist. Jehovah Witnesses believe only 144,000 will go to heaven and the other people who obey God will live forever on a paradise earth. Scientologist believe the human body is regarded as similar to that of the of other religions; that at death, the spirit will leave the body but the life and the personality will go on.

It is a puzzling thought! The first law of man is self preservation so why or how could death come to get us?

The thought for the day is … THE WAY!! A few weeks ago I was speaking to my earthly Dad about something I realized during a reading in my devotion. “This entire life is about Jesus!” There’s no getting around it!

There are many who believe different things about different things but, at the end of it all, we will one day meet Jesus face to face. This is hard to believe for some of you out there because of your belief system. I understand. I decided to believe in the Holy Bible as the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth book; hearing a story about a man who walked the earth for a little over 3 decades that would die on a cross shedding His blood for people. He started the whole thing (Him being the Word that became flesh) and He’s going to finish it all!

We’re Just Passing Through to Get to The Other Side — Jesus = Jesus!” is just that. John 1:1-5 (King James Version) “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) The same was in the beginning with God. (3) All thing were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (4) In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (5) And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended not.”

What is your thought about this concept? No matter your stance. I’d really love to hear your take on it.

Blog Fridays: The “Footprints” That Matter …

Who wouldn’t want someone that can walk a mile in our shoes? Meaning, they understand those most tender sacred moments we encounter! We’d all like someone who understands every intricate detail about us. We have it! We just have to realize it!! Jesus has been there to help us whether every storm — even when it was a “good” moment. I know the thought may be that “Why would I need Jesus in a “good” moment? ….

Since He is the Way, the Truth and the Life it is best that He is with us in every experience we will face. I want to give Him thanks, not just when it’s bad, but also when it’s really good. If it wasn’t for the bad how could I understand any good. Even He said “Why do you call me good? There’s none good but one (Luke 18:19).

This encouragement is to remind you to set your heart/mind/soul on Christ! He is there! Remember the FOOTPRINTS that MATTER …

Decisions! Decisions! Decisions — It’s Worth Repeating

Image result for there are choices even when someone takes your choice

I’ve addressed this before but I believe it needs another reflection. Can you take away a person’s right to choose? There’s a notion that someone can take away such a thing. If there is a rule it will, somehow, make the decision for us; however, this isn’t entirely true. How can you remove a person’s thought, regardless, of good or bad? You’d have to be God and, last time I checked, neither one of us are! He doesn’t take it away! He gave us this right because He wanted a relationship, but that’s another blog for another time.

While at the gym this morning, I was speaking with my Dad of how most people don’t realize a non-choice is a choice. Case in point to the above, when the judge renders a verdict (or jury) the accused can still decide to accept it or not. Seems rather strange to say considering if the verdict was life in prison, but the truth is the accused could break away from the guard(s), kill him or herself, bust out; just too many to count. They’ve made many movies where a person plotted some type of escape (choice).

The enlightenment of today’s blog is our choices are the root to everyday! God told me some years back that I made the decision for the life I have. I was stunned! It didn’t dawn on me that I kept choosing the life I’m living. Why? I have no clue. How could I not see that I kept making choices that kept placing me in certain predicaments? LOL. Kinda funny when you think about it. See yourself, you’re making choices that are leading you where you are. Those ups and downs are joined together formulating what our todays and tomorrows will be.

Take courage that no one can ever silence you! But take greater pride to try to better your choices through wisdom principles! — important notation … checking with God will help (smile)!!

The Invisible Seen

Image result for rainbow

What would it take for someone to believe that there is a God? Only ONE! Jehovah is just one of His names. It baffles me that we have so many things surrounding us that proves His existence and still fall short to believe. What causes such things? When you see the rainbow what is the first thing that come to mind? I assume you’ve heard the story of how it came to be. The story of Noah. A promise given to him by God that He wouldn’t destroy the earth again by water (but by fire next time). Just think, the bow of 7 colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo {purple}, violet) appears because water droplets break white sunlight into those reflected. Now admit, that is pretty cool.

It’s quite amazing that back in 1981 the first launch of the space shuttle occurred. Can you believe this allowed man to walk on the moon. But what’s more amazing than that is the shiny ball of fire burning constantly warming our planet, powers our weather and water cycle making it possible for plants to grow. And, yet, we cannot travel there. We capture pictures of its look but will never be able to come close to. Besides, its distance is closer to us than the stars.

Image result for grand canyon

The beauty of the Grand Canyon in Colorado. How in the world did this big “hole” in the earth form? This is hard to fathom but over 6 million years ago the eastern and western portions of the canyon connected allowing the river to flow all the way through; eventually, the water started carving through layers of volcanic rock and sediment making it 277 miles long. Purely awesome!

The Sahara Desert! There is something about this desert that fascinates me. Where in the world did all this sand come from, lol? It was created 7 million years ago as remnants of a vast sea called Tethys closed up. The movement of tectonic plates (a massive irregularly shaped slab of solid rock generally composed of continental and oceanic lithosphere {regions of earth’s crust and upper mantle that are fractured into plates}) created the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps which also sparked drying out what we, now, see as the Sahara Desert. All of this seems insane. But, once again, leaves a person in complete awe!

How can’t you or I not believe? Perhaps, ONCE AGAIN, taking a look in the mirror at yourself. He created Adam and Eve and all these years later … here we are. I can’t begin to fathom there being 6 million years ago when I only know a few; yet, my God must be eternal (though wrapping my mind around it remains difficult) because look at all to see!
