Age Matters! Women — We Have a Sex Drive, Too!

Leonardo DiCaprio's Girlfriend Camila Morrone Says She Isn't Bothered by Their 23-Year Age Gap

The 23 years between Leonardo DiCaprio (45) and Camila Morrone (22) has spread like wild fire. She explains the “May to December” (an expression to describe relationships meaning May is younger {in the spring of life} and December is older {in the winter of life}) romance is fine. “I don’t understand the criticism received about our age difference. It’s nothing new, and age … it’s nothing but a number,” she explains in an interview with Los Angeles Times.

Since yesterday’s posting I wondered why it was more common with men than women. Did it really make that much of a difference. In personal talks with different couples over the years I learned that an older man tended to look for younger women for various reasons such as: virility, child bearing, inheritance, the appearance, ego, and she can take care of him. The list goes on, however, these few were jaw-dropping within itself.

We as women have a sex drive too! It matters who is on our arm and we want a man who will take care of us. Maybe not as defined by men but we, too, seek for someone who will, in the long run, be able to satisfy our persons’ as well. This all, considering, seems rather sexist. But maybe that’s the underlining point.

“Aquaman” actor Jason Momoa, 40, still blushes when he talks about his wife, actress Lisa Bonet, 51.

The star, who is on the shortlist for People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive 2019” title, called her “literally my childhood crush” and “dream girl” in a recent interview with Esquire.

“If someone says something isn’t possible,” Momoa said, “I’m like, ‘Listen here, I married Lisa Bonet. Anything is [expletive] possible.'”

It still seems more common for men to seek out younger women, but one of TODAY’s most-read stories continues to be this post on why younger men fall for older women. We’ve celebrated the long-term relationships between actor Hugh Jackman, who is 13 years younger than wife Deborra-Lee Furness. Then there’s French President Emmanuel Macron, 41, and his 66-year-old wife Brigitte. Macron has said the criticism of his marriage stems from sexism.

But it’s not only younger famous men who understand the attraction to mature women.

In “Older Women, Younger Men: New Options for Love and Romance,” authors Felicia Brings and Susan Winter interviewed more than 200 men to discover the allure of the so-called “Mrs. Robinson syndrome.” You’ll be surprised at what men find appealing about older women.

“I’d do it again? Definitely, no question. Oh yeah, and once you’ve done it, you definitely look at older women in another way.”—Nick, 33

We’ve made our position known and shared the thoughts and experiences of the women to whom we talked. Now it’s time to let the men speak for themselves. One important question we asked was what they felt an older woman has to offer. Here are some answers which are clear, articulate and to the point. Their sentiments represent a very large proportion of the opinions we heard expressed.

In the end … it is two mature people coming together to make something work. Relationships are hard work and if one is not on board it won’t work regardless of the difference in age or gender!
