KATch-UP Mondays: Without Appetite

It’s that time of year where the season has changed; the blossom of the trees kicking up debris of all sorts; warm and cold at the same time. It can be the most pleasant and, yet, the most miserable time for those who suffer during this season.

Having seasonal allergies can be a chore. You don’t get to experience relief from sneezing, watery eyes and a constant blow of the nose. Nope! Everyday it’s tissue after tissue. For those of us who are looking for relief, where can we find it? Does it exist? And then it happens … the COLD!

Daggit! And here we are! Being sick is no fun at all. So, I searched out some things you can do. Now, this search is different from the rest. My other mom (she’s like a mom) is a retired RN. She used to work in the emergency unit. She gave me a laundry list of things a person should do. She recommended Airborne. She said it’s good for building the immune system. She said a person can lack the Vitamin C they need to replenish what is lost during sickness. She recommended chicken soup. You know I’ve heard this before about how it’s better for you during that time. I’ll look it up and post it beneath. Then she recommended tea; tea. And, lastly, some Mucinex.

This post is because … I am sick as I don’t know what. I haven’t been sick like this in a very long while. I mentioned to her that I had no appetite. I read over the weekend why this happens. It said that your sugar level lowers . I told her of how my appetite was gone; finished; finito (lol). Hence the theme. We don’t feel like moving let alone eating anything. So, I want to help you as I am helping myself.

Now, I HIGHLY recommend the Mucinex. Even when Mom said it, I knew she was right, buuuuuuut …. it is quite expensive. I guess when you really want to get over something price isn’t a factor. But I have to be honest about myself, I hate spending money … admittedly, even when it’s best for me. So, I didn’t get the Mucinex, but I did buy some good ol’ tasting orange juice, several cans of chicken noodle soup and have been resting as much as possible!

Oh! I forgot the most important ingredient … REST!!! I told her that I wanted to go to the gym but she highly recommended I take the day off. That’s like cussing to me lol. I don’t want to miss it. Low and behold my taking today off has paid in full. All of the sickness has come out lol! I’ve decided (though this is difficult to say) to not go the gym tomorrow as well. Now, I can’t predict when this cold will pass, but I’m hoping soon. This whole thing is a bug!

I hope I have helped in some way to gain your appetite and replenish what you, or someone you know, is needed towards getting better! Get the appetite to fight!!
