Shades of grey dwelling in the midst of the black or white. Or is it white or black? Obviously, it dwells in the middle. It is neither black nor white but the middle of two well proportioned areas colliding into one another. Actually, it is best thought of as two areas conceding and formulating what we know, now, as GREY! The ultimate battle created a balance instead of a divide!
What do you see when you look at me? What do I see when I look at you? What are the first things we recognize about individuals who do not walk in our social society? I am a person. I am a woman. I am a blogger. Three essential points that is seen every week! It is true! It is powerful! It is everything! It is the unveiling of an intimacy about me that most people don’t recognize. And, although, I’m not caught up into the whole “I AM WOMAN! HEAR ME ROAR!” stuff, I do recognize the importance of stating my stance as a woman in a world dominated by men!
I have spoken extensively about my upbringing. My Dad didn’t separate me from my brothers. Well, at least, that I could tell. Discipline was discipline. Reward was reward. Respect was the foundation to the ins and outs in the family and everyone else around. Notice, respect is not a gender or race. But it is a profession. Yeah, it just came to me. Respect’s profession is to govern those who embrace it. Again, like the essentials of who I am, it is powerful beyond compare. Respect opens and closes needed doors. It is the strength and the guide to our everyday. At least it should be.
Love! It covers the multitude of fault! It forgives mistakes. It recognizes the humbled, bruised and lost. It edifies the spirit which nourishes our souls! Take a hard look at the image to your right. It is the truth revealed but sometimes forgotten. We are one in the same. Our skeletal make-up is identical. Here I go, again, with this “we are one,” mumbo jumbo. But it NEEDS to become more prevalent in our world today; the future depends on it. Its urgency is dire. As a person who writes (beyond the blog) I want to always be one toward truths, respect, wisdom and integrity! Yes, they all supposed to tie together! Carefully note a person can be honest but be rude. Integrity shines through because respect has been enforced and wisdom comes alongside to make sure it stays intact. These characteristics never take a backseat no matter the position. They are to be shown at all times!
I leave this note with you lyrics in the “Black or White” song by Michael Jackson. The rap states …
For gangs, clubs, and nations
Causing grief in human relations
It's a turf war on a global scale
I'd rather hear both sides of the tale
See, it's not about races
Where your blood comes from
Is where your space is
I've seen the bright get duller
I'm not going to spend my life being a color
